Cleaned Fueled Motor Vehicles

Eligibility: New motor vehicles exclusively powered by clean alternative fuels. Sales prior to 7/1/2008
Incentive: Exemption from CT sales tax
Program Features: Clean fuels defined as natural gas, hydrogen or electricity and propane is such vehicle meets the deferral fleet emissions standards under the federal clean air act or adopted by the Commissioner of DEP

Connecticut Cool Choice

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial.
Incentive: Rebate; up to $200 per ton, up to 30 tons
Program Features: Electric customers who purchase and install new or replacement, qualifying, high-efficiency HVAC and Air and Water Heat Pump equipment and controls that meet minimum qualifying SEER/EER/HSPF ratings are eligible for rebates of up to $200 per ton, up to 30 tons.

Connecticut MotorUp Rebate Program

Eligibility: All CL&P and UI commercial and industrial customers of any size requiring new or replacement three-phase, premium-efficient general purpose motors.
Incentive: Rebates are based on motor horsepower
Program Features: Motors between one and 200 horsepower with listed or greater efficiencies are eligible. See the attached application for more information.

Demand Reduction

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial; CL&P customers only.
Incentive: Qualifying projects incentives will be lesser of $500/kW curtailed or 50% of installed costs. (SWCT Customer - lesser of $1000/kW curtailed or 50% of installed cost).
Program Features: Commercial and Industrial customers who are capable and willing to control kW demand during peak times through real-time monitoring and control.

Energy Conscious Blueprint

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial; Multi-family complex (greater than 4 levels); Municipality
Incentive: Incentive; maximum annual cap of $200,000 per customer Tax ID number
Program Features: For new construction, major renovation and equipment replacement projects; customers who include energy efficient measures (for design, lighting, lighting controls, HVAC, chillers, refrigeration, etc.) receive incentives up to 100% of incremental cost.

Energy Independence Load Response Program

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial; Owners of distributed generation equipment that operate at 85% load factor or greater from 12 pm to 8 pm weekdays during June through September, and January through February; and other requirements. CL&P projects that receive grants through CEEF, CCEF, or other programs already funded by customers are not eligible.
Incentive: Incentive; distributed generation grants are $450 per kW, with an additional $50 per kW for emergency generation projects located within SWCT that come online prior to April 30, 2008.
Program Features: To encourage customers to install distributed generation systems at their facilities.

Energy Opportunities

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial; Multifamily (greater than 4 levels); Municipality
Incentive: Incentive; maximum annual cap of $200,000 per customer Tax ID number
Program Features: For projects which retrofit existing systems with energy efficient measures (such as lighting, HVAC equipment, etc.); customers who retrofit existing systems receive incentives from CL&P/UI

Express Rebate Services

Eligibility: All commercial and industrial customers - lighting: upgrades only; Motors: up to 200HP; HVAC: up to 30 tons
Incentive: Prescriptive rebates paying up to 100% of incremental costs

ISO-NE Load Response Program Support

Eligibility: All commercial and industrial customers with at least 100kW of curtailable load.
Incentive: Incentives are paid for curtailment when requested. Higher payments are available for 30 minutes and two hour demand reduction.
Program Features: Maintain the ability of existing participants to reduce load during periods of system capacity deficiency. Call 1.877.947.3873 for additional information.

Lighting Rebate Program

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial.
Incentive: Rebate; range from $10 to $50 per type of lighting product.
Program Features: Electric customers who purchase and install lighting products for existing facilities (new construction is not eligible) are eligible for rebates.

New Energy Technology Grants

Eligibility: Any CT based company seeking to develop innovative energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy technologies.
Incentive: One time grant up to $10,000
Program Features:

Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Services

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial
Incentive: Incentive; up to 50% of installed cost.
Program Features: Program for improving and optimizing a building's operations and supporting those improvements with enhanced maintenance procedures (rather than capital investments) resulting in energy savings.

Power Factor Improvement

Eligibility: CL&P customers who are provided electricity through Rate 58 tariff who have a 12 month average power factor below the approved qualification threshold.
Incentive: Incentives up to 50% of installed cost to improve power factor to the rate average power factor (0.898 for Rate 58). Absolute cap of $60/KVAR

PRIME

Eligibility: Industrial; CL&P customers only.
Incentive: 100% reimbursement of cost paid for the first two events at the cutomers' location for qualifying projects
Program Features: PRIME (Process Reengineering for Increased Manufacturing Efficiency). Program designed to help Connecticut's industrial customers become more competitive and energy efficient through recommendations for manufacturing and process improvements. Industrial manufacturing customers with average peak demand of 1500 kW or less.

Project 100

Eligibility: Class 1 Renewable Energy Generators
Incentive: Minimum 10-year contract to provide class 1 renewable capacity to CL&P and UI. Minimum $50,000 grant award to each approved project that is contracted.
Program Features: The state's electric distribution companies (CL&P and UI) are required to enter into minimum 10-year contracts for not less than 100 MW of Class I renewable capacity. This initiative is designed to encourage financing of renewable energy projects, stimulate the development of new projects, and increase the available supply of renewable energy. Contracts increase to 125 MW between October 1, 2007 to October 1, 2008, and then to 150 MW from October 1, 2008 onward.

Small Business Energy Advantage

Eligibility: All commercial and industrial customers, including municipalities, with up to 200kW (CL&P) or 150kW (UI) of average peak demand.
Incentive: Interest-free financing and prescriptive incentives up to 50% of the installed cost for Lighting, HVAC, and Refrigeration measures. Lighting: 50% of installed cost; HVAC: Prescriptive O&M Incentives; Refrigertion: 50% of insalled cost
Program Features: On-site assessment and installation of cost-effective electric energy measures. Interest-free loans for qualified customers for the balance of project costs. Call 1.877.947.3873 for additional information.

Small Industrial and Commercial Loan

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial; in business for minimum 3 years; CL&P customers only.
Incentive: Loan; Interest-free financing
Program Features: CL&P qualified commercial customers with average kW demand of 350 kW or less, or industrial customers with less than 100 employees. Loan; Interest-free financing, maximum loan is $250,000, minimum is $5000, with up to a 6 year loan payback period.

Solar photovoltaic (PV) Rebate

Eligibility: Residential; Single or multi family (up to 4 units) residences in CT; Nonprofit and govenmental organizations. Business and Developers.
Incentive: Rebate; $5 for the first 5 kW, $4.30 for the next 5 kW; The current solar rebate offered by CCEF is based on the design efficiency of your system.
Program Features: The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) is providing rebates of $5.00 per watt (maximum $25,000) for the installation of new, approved, grid-connected, PV systems. Under the CCEF program, cash Rebates are only available for PV systems purchased through an Eligible Installer who is authorized to apply for rebates for approved systems on Connecticut residences. Rebates must be passed on, in full, to customers. Eligible Installers may not require customers to pay the full costs and then wait for reimbursement from CCEF

Vending Machine Occupancy Sensor

Eligibility: Commercial; Industrial. CL&P customers only.
Incentive: Rebate; range from $10 to $50 per type of lighting product.
Program Features: Eligible vending machines must be located indoors, soda machines (i.e., nonperishable items), installed in front of a permanent wall to allow for proper installation of the device, and located in a "low-activity" area. $75 per unit installed.
